\nI was rooting for this film, but it more than falls short and flat, and most of it is due to dialogue and delivery. The action sequences and over-the-top deaths of the three main targets try to cover up the gaps in the story but ultimately fail.<\/p>\n
Surprisingly, the only moments that feel genuine are those between John and his wife, especially those beautifully cinematic moments in limbo between reality and heaven.<\/p>\n
With that said, I was disappointed in Taylor Sheridan. I love YELLOWSTONE. How did he go from such nuanced dialogue and layered storylines to this one-note mission lacking clarity and emotional connection? Regardless of how many times John says, this mission is vengeance for his wife and unborn child, the story beats don’t move us to be invested. Dialogue doesn’t motivate investment.<\/p>\n
