The death means nothing if the character means nothing to us and\/or the death of the character means nothing to the characters we’ve invested in.<\/p>\n
So, we spend an entire episode getting to know Erin. When we find her dead at the end of the episode, we’re immediately invested in our protagonist bringing her killer to justice.<\/p>\n
